Stephanie Cawley is the author of My Heart But Not My Heart (Slope Editions, 2020), chosen by Solmaz Sharif as winner of the Slope Book Prize, as well as the chapbook A Wilderness, selected by Khadijah Queen as winner of the Gazing Grain Press All-Genre Chapbook Contest. A poet from southern New Jersey, Stephanie holds a B.A. in literature from Stockton University and an M.F.A. in poetry from the University of Pittsburgh. They are a 2023 NEA Creative Writing Fellow.
Stephanie’s poetry and hybrid work have been featured in Verse Daily, Best New Poets, and the PEN Poetry Series. They have taught creative, critical, and professional writing to middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college students in the Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and South Jersey areas. They are the former poetry editor for Hot Metal Bridge. They live in Philadelphia.
